To tell the truth I kinda hate running, but I LOVE RACES!
I mean, I don’t absolutely hate running. I love planning my runs, sometimes it’s just not so easy to actually get me to run. While running it can be awesome! Or it can be a complete nightmare. After a run good or bad I always feel great though, I can’t wait to run again! Now the feeling only lasts until I have to get out the door and actually run. Unfortunately the thought in my head is always “I don’t want to do this” But sign me up to a race and I will jump up and down like a little kid on Christmas morning. I LOVE RACES!
There is something about all the people and the excitement and the “we are all in this together” feeling that I can’t get enough of. I’m addicted to races.
I’m always in the back of the pack, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. If anything it adds an extra layer of excitement since I better finish before they close the course!
I’m so thrilled that I have a 10K coming up this Saturday. I know that race will jump start my excitement to continue my Marathon training. I have completely lost my mojo. I need to fall in love with running again, or a good crush will do.
Saturday I’m running the Oakley Mini 10K in NYC and I promise to come back here and tell you everything about it.
I actually have lots of other races coming up and taking me all the way to my big race in November.
And there are many more races on my wish list: Leesburg 20K 8/16, Navy Air Force Half 9/20, Diva Half 9/26, Bronx 10 Miler 9/27, Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half 10/4. But of course between time and money, we’ll see how many of these I actually get to run.
