Late again to the party, but in a way today is my Monday, so there you go…
Last week was short and sweet, just 4 miles on Monday, 7 miles on Tuesday and then off until Sunday when I run the VA Beach Rock ’n Roll Half Marathon.
This is not going to be a happy post because I’m so disappointed with myself. See, I have been running 12 miles in 3 hours for the past two weeks, so I thought I was going to do great on this half marathon. 13.1 miles maybe 3:20 the most, and who knows maybe even faster because of the excitement of the race! Well that didn’t happen, it took me 3:49 to complete it! My worst time ever for this race. I have run this one 4 years now and it’s always awful because it’s so hot and humid, but I thought I was going to do so great this time since for once I am training. Yeah, I have never trained for a race before. AHHHH! Frustrating! But that’s that and let’s move on…
The weekend was fun, I always hate running this one because of the heat, but then I love everything else about it! As I was leaving VA Beach Monday morning I was thinking “aw I want to come back again next year”

Not going to panick about my upcoming Marathon, this last half was a bad one, but I’m too stubborn to quit. If anything I am more inspired now to keep my training. I’m going to reach that NYC finish line and proof myself that I’m capable of anything I set my mind to DARN IT!
